Asking costs nothing! If I can help, I will, but am honest enough to turn something down if I cannot.
I am fluent in Spanish and have a broad understanding of French and German and can deal with written Italian. Willing to tackle any translating and interpreting job, business or personal, spoken or written down, requiring my presence or by telephone and/or Email.
Currently mainly involved with doctors and hospital visits, but I have translated in courts, police stations, schools and notaries in the past, at conventions, business meetings, courses and workshops, sometimes using translation booths.
In writing I have translated advertisements, magazine articles, hotel brochures, website entries, books, film scripts, quality specifications, manuals and contracts among others. Nothing too big or too small.
Since I have been in Spain for 12 years, married to a Spaniard and in an overwhelmingly Spanish town, I understand the Spanish way of doing things and how to get what you want, which all too few expats have any idea with.
I also am not fazed by the Spanish bureaucracy, in fact I find it preferable and easier to dealing with the UK! So if you need to register kids for school, get an NIE number or the residency certificate, exchange or register your UK driving licence, change your vehicle documents, sign on with the doctors with an E109 or E121, get a European health card or many other things, then I can help you with it.
Having been involved with about 25 property transactions in some form or other, a particular speciality is help with buying, selling or renting property, where someone unbiased who is on your side and telling you the truth without ripping you off is almost impossible to find. I have acted on people's behalf for both buying and selling, doing a fuller and better job than most solicitors for considerably less money.
I charge from 7cents a word for written translations - you can Email me the document on a no obligation and strictly confidential basis and I will give you a fixed price. As to interpreting and other jobs I charge 15 euros an hour from the time I leave my house till the time I return. Expenses such as motorway tolls, parking and telephone calls are charged at cost as extras. Please feel free to ring and discuss anything you may need, even if it is out of the area I mention above.
